Life Together
Being surrounded by committed Christian friends is vital to young men and women who want to know, love, and serve God. SPO households provide the chance to be immersed in a strong Christian environment, characterized by supportive, life-giving relationships, and a common way of life. The structured aspects of this include doing the following together: eating meals, hosting guests, doing chores, and praying. |
Prayer
Prayer is an essential element of household life, both corporately and individually. Household members gather several times a week for Morning Prayer, and they also encourage one another in developing a rich daily personal prayer life. SPO also provides other programs such as small groups, teachings, retreats, and prayer meetings to help students grow in their relationship with the Lord while living in household. |
Service
Service is a major component of life in SPO households. Living in community provides numerous opportunities each day to serve and grow in selflessness. Household alumni have found that learning to lay their lives down for others on a daily basis in household is excellent preparation for both marriage and celibacy.
|
Commitment
Household members sign an agreement with SPO and commit to the program for at least one semester or in most cases, a full year. The agreement describes the program commitments, and includes a conduct policy, based on the mission and core values of SPO.
